Sensors
Sensors are installed on the systems you want to monitor, such as water infrastructure, gates, pumps and power systems. Each sensor collects specific information and sends data through the BetterLiving network.
BetterLiving uses sensors to collect data from things on your property. Sensors send their data using long-range wireless technology to an easy-to-use app to help property owners know what’s going on with their property even when they are not there. BetterLiving is designed specifically for rural properties, holiday homes and other remote locations.

The BetterLiving system combines three key components:
Sensors are installed on the systems you want to monitor, such as water infrastructure, gates, pumps and power systems. Each sensor collects specific information and sends data through the BetterLiving network.
Data from your sensors travels through a long-range wireless network designed specifically for remote monitoring. This allows devices to communicate across large properties while using minimal power.
The BetterLiving app brings information from your connected systems together in one place. View property status, receive alerts, review activity history and take action when required.
BetterLiving uses purpose-built monitoring devices installed across your property to collect information from the systems you want to track.

BetterLiving uses LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network), a wireless communication technology designed to connect low-power devices across large areas. Unlike traditional wireless connections, LoRaWAN is built for remote monitoring applications where devices need to operate reliably over long distances while using minimal power.
This makes it ideal for monitoring systems across rural properties, farms, holiday homes and other remote locations.
Where LoRaWAN coverage is not already available, BetterLiving can install a gateway on your property. The gateway acts as the connection point between your monitoring devices and the internet, allowing your sensors to send information to the BetterLiving platform.
The gateway can connect to the internet using Wi-Fi, 4G or Starlink (where required), while individual BetterLiving devices communicate directly with the gateway using LoRaWAN technology.
Property sensors
The BetterLiving app gives you visibility over your property from anywhere. View the status of connected systems, receive alerts when something changes and manage your monitoring setup from your phone or computer.
BetterLiving is available through both a mobile app and web app, giving you flexibility to monitor your property wherever you are.
View tanks, pumps, bores, meters and valves together in one straightforward network view.
Set up your property within the BetterLiving app by adding the systems you want to monitor. Create monitoring networks for areas such as water systems, fences and gates, then connect your devices and customise your notification settings.
The BetterLiving dashboard provides an overview of your connected systems, highlighting anything that needs attention. Quickly check your property status or explore individual devices for more detail.
BetterLiving keeps you informed when conditions change. Receive notifications directly to your phone, share alerts with other users and take action remotely when supported by your connected devices.
BetterLiving helps you stay informed by sending alerts when changes are detected across your monitored systems. Whether you are managing a rural property, farm or holiday home, notifications help you respond quickly without needing to constantly check your property.

Alerts are delivered directly through the BetterLiving app and can be shared with other users when required. Notifications can also be escalated if a response is not received, helping ensure important issues are not missed.
